FROM FRECKLES TO FORMULATION
From her childhood in Iran to the sunny shores of California, Emily Mishkan, Doctor of Pharmacy, was no stranger to the allure of summertime and abundant swimming pools. Yet, what began as innocent freckles on her olive skin soon evolved into persistent melasma, exacerbated by prolonged sun exposure and hormonal shifts during her college years.
Throughout her pursuit of a Doctor of Pharmacy degree, Emily tirelessly experimented with countless ingredients and products, both prescription and over-the-counter, in search of a solution for her uneven skin tone. Dishearteningly, many of these products proved to be harsh and aggravating, rather than offering the desired brightening effect.
After decades of research and product testing, Emily achieved a breakthrough. Her formulation not only improved the appearance of dark spots on her skin but also preserved her beloved olive complexion. Thus, her very first product (and motto), Don’t Get Mad Get Even, was born.
WHY IT WORKS
Niacinamide is a superstar brightening compound that minimizes pore size, soothes redness, and lowers oil production, making it the ideal ingredient for skin types battling uneven skin tone, large pores, and upset skin. Research has found that niacinamide works best at percentages between 2-5%, which is why we chose to include 5% in Don’t Get Mad Get Even.
5% NIACINAMIDE
Tranexamic acid (TXA) is a skin tone-evening champion. From sun exposure, post-upset skin, or even to maintain your complexion, TXA comes to the rescue to deliver an even and bright skin tone, minus the irritation. Unlike other skin-brightening agents, it can safely be used with glycolic acid, retinoids, and vitamin C, making it the ideal daily and nightly skincare ingredient. At a generous 5%, tranexamic acid uses all its might to improve the overall appearance of skin tone.

WHY SUNSCREEN:
Sunscreen is crucial in preventing a myriad of conditions such as hyperpigmentation and cancer. All skin tones, no matter how light or dark, should opt for an SPF between 30-50. Whether you're using a chemical or mineral-based sunscreen, consistent sunscreen use is vital in preventing skin discoloration and maintaining overall skin health. In short, apply daily!
